About this machine
A narrow, battery-electric scissor lift for overhead work inside a building — ceilings, sprinklers, lighting, ductwork, drywall and fit-outs. It raises two people and their tools straight up to an 18 ft 9 in platform, about 25 ft of working height, and it can creep along while raised, so the crew moves down a ceiling without coming back to the floor.
Zero emissions and 30 in wide, so it works inside an occupied building. The charger is on board and plugs into a standard grounded outlet.
Outdoors it keeps the same rating — two people, 500 lb — but only on smooth, firm, level ground such as a slab or pavement, and never in winds over 45 km/h. It is not a rough-terrain machine. Carry no drywall, plywood or panels on the platform outdoors or in wind: they act as a sail.
This lift is NOT insulated. Keep it at least 10 ft (3 m) from power lines.
You supply the operator. Training on this class of machine is the employer's duty under Alberta occupational health and safety law, and you confirm it at checkout. Ask, and we will walk your operator through this unit's controls at pickup. Our rental agreement requires a CSA-approved fall-arrest harness and lanyard for everyone on the platform.
Figures are JLG's published specifications for this model unless they were read off this machine's own decals. Anything we have not checked against the machine is left off the page and listed as unconfirmed.
When it is free
One unit behind this lot — this calendar is the machine itself, not a pool. A free day here is genuinely yours to take, and a booked one has no spare to fall back on.

- Not suppliedAn operatorThe rate is the machine on its own. You put a trained, competent person in the seat — the yard does not send one, and there is no add-on that changes that.
- Not suppliedInsuranceThe damage waiver is not insurance. It reduces what you owe for accidental damage; it does not cover theft, misuse or an untrained operator, and it does not stand in for the policy behind your certificate.

What you bring
- Certified operatorA trained, competent operator. You certify at checkout that whoever runs this machine is trained and competent on this machine class.
- Certificate of insuranceA current certificate of insurance naming Cold Steel Rentals. We verify it before the machine is released — a COI is required on every rental.
- A CSA-approved fall-arrest harness and lanyard for each person on the platform
- Staff approvalYour dates are held the moment you reserve. The yard checks your insurance and licence before the machine leaves — that is the only step that is not instant.
Things to know
Who may run it
- Every person who runs this machine has to be trained and competent on this class of machine.
- You certify that yourself at checkout — the yard does not test you — and it is a clause of the agreement you sign.
- Occupational health and safety law in Alberta puts that on you.
Insurance
- A certificate of insurance naming Cold Steel Rentals as additional insured and loss payee, on every rental without exception.
- 12%of the rental— damage waiver, on every order. A valid certificate on file is the one thing that takes it off.
- The yard reads the certificate before the machine is released. Send it at checkout or have your broker email it.
Cancelling
- 24hor more before pickup — cancelling costs nothing.
- 48hor more if we are delivering — a truck is committed sooner.
- Inside that window, part of the rental is kept.
